Discover our Short Walks Made Easy guide for Bristol and Bath. This collection showcases attractive, family‑friendly walks across the West Country. Each route is designed for enjoyable days out without long distances.

Just 12 miles apart, Bristol and Bath connect easily by road and rail. The River Avon links both cities through varied landscapes. Together, they offer rich character, history and plentiful green spaces.

The walks follow the Avon Valley from Ashton Court to Limpley Stoke. Explore parkland estates, quiet woodlands and colourful wildflower meadows. Pretty river stretches create a relaxed and scenic walking experience.

In Bristol, walk the lively Floating Harbour waterfront circuit. Discover maritime history beside modern culture and waterside views. Further out, Ashton Court offers open skies, deer parkland and festival heritage.

Visit Blaise Castle Estate with its beech tree cathedral and quirky folly. Head to Leigh Woods for peaceful woodland explorations. Conham and Swineford provide riverside paths and meadow-filled countryside.

In Bath, routes blend Roman heritage with graceful Georgian architecture. Pause within the city’s Botanical Gardens during your walk. Climb to Beckford’s Tower or follow the Bath Skyline for wide views.

South of the city, discover calm waterways and hidden countryside beauty. Monkton Combe and Limpley Stoke offer tranquil walking routes. These quieter paths contrast beautifully with Bath’s historic centre.
